This story begins with Dominik De Vreese. A father, a trail runner, and above all: a man on a mission. In November 2024, he ran the New York Marathon as an ambassador for Cliniclowns. However, the marathon was just one part of his broader commitment to this wonderful organisation.
Why Cliniclowns?
Dominik chose Cliniclowns because they do what truly matters: offering children a moment of joy and relaxation during times of illness or uncertainty.
With humour and personal attention, they bring light into the darkest moments for children and their families. This resonates deeply with Dominik, especially as he himself is facing a chronic condition.

Ghent Aggregates contributes to a smile
At Ghent Aggregates, we have a warm heart for children and youth. Their wellbeing and happiness are our top priority. That’s why we supported Dominik and Cliniclowns with a donation of €2,500. Our goal is to help further their mission: to make a difference for children and families who need it most, through humour and play.
A nod to The Warmest Week
Although Dominik’s project is separate from The Warmest Week, we feel closely connected to the theme of solidarity that is central during this period in Flanders. Much like The Warmest Week, this story is about supporting people, making small gestures with a big impact, and creating a warm community.
